Founded in 2009, St. Patrick School is nestled in the heart of the Mugure slums of Baba Dogo, a densely populated area in Nairobi County. The school was the brainchild of the late Patrick Gitau, whose vision was deeply rooted in the desire to provide equal access to education for children who would otherwise be excluded due to poverty. Established within church premises, the school began as a humble initiative but has since grown to become a beacon of hope for the underprivileged children in the community.
In the Mugure slums, many children face significant barriers to education, including financial hardship, lack of access to basic amenities, and social challenges. Recognizing these struggles, Patrick Gitau sought to create an institution where education would not be a privilege for the few, but a right for all. St. Patrick School was founded with the belief that every child, regardless of their financial status, deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
